Easy Gifts to Make

Special events keep happening and that's when you feel short of gift ideas. Presenting or thinking of a unique items each time might be tough task.
You might have already explored several gift shops and picked up items that are very usual. From extremely expensive pieces to some inexpensive but personalized gifts, you would have opted for all. Well, now it's time to think of something different.
How about some homemade gifts? These will have the sweet personal touch and will be something that's much more useful to the recipient. So here are some ideas that you can make at home.

Teacup Candles

These are lovely gifts for women especially for the housewarming function. All you need is a set of teacups, wicks, colored wax, and some fragrances. You can opt for teacups with saucers as they are easier to float and do not topple over.
Instead of wax, you can also use candles in your home and if they are white, use food colors or pieces of wax crayons. The material is easily available in a craft store.
Start by melting the wax in a double boiler. While its melting, add colors and then fragrance. Now, hold a wick in center of the teacup, pour the wax in this cup. Hold the wick till the wax is at least semi-solid. Let the wax cool down and thicken. A pretty teacup candle is ready. You can also have add second shade of wax, if the teacups are transparent.

Bath Basket

A bath basket can be a classic thing that can be gifted to anyone.
Filled with items that will help you have a perfect bath with a calm touch of relaxation. Get some scented candles, essential oils, washcloth, bath salts, and a classic DVD for a soothing music background.
Here's an easy recipe of making bath salts that needs to be added to this basket. Take 4 cups of Epsom salts, 2 cups of sea salt, lavender oil for its fragrance, and a food color. Mix the salts and add about 10 drops of essential oil to it. Finish by adding the desired food color. Mix well and keep it in a zip-lock bag. Leave it for 2 weeks, shake everyday.
Take a classy-looking, transparent, tall, and narrow bottle. Fill it with this bath salt, close the lid and tie a ribbon matching with color of the salt. Place it in the bath basket.

Bread Dipping Oils

You need olive oil and a decorative, transparent glass bottle. Here's the recipe. Take 1 cup of olive oil and add 1 teaspoon of each of these, ground black pepper, crushed red pepper, oregano, basil, parsley, rosemary, garlic, and salt.
Increase the quantity of these spices according to the quantity of oil. Stir and pour the contents into the bottle. Close the lid and tie a metallic or satin ribbon to neck of this bottle. Stick a small note saying shake well before presenting. This forms a lovely gift that will perfectly accompany a loaf of freshly baked French bread.

Decorative Eggs

You can also gift these on other occasions as a pretty decorative item. Have a few of these and place them in a decorative basket filled with dry grass, a decorative gift item is ready.
Here's how to make decorative eggs. Take an egg and make a hole with a needle. Hold the egg over a bowl and expand the hole with a nail. Make at least 1/4-inches hole and empty it. Wash it from inside and outside properly with water. Once its dry start painting it with glossy paint.
Take decorative lace and glue it on the egg, make sure that you cover the hole with this. Let it dry and then spray acrylic finish spray over it. Similarly, work on rest of the eggs.
