Shruti Bhat
Flower, chocolates, cards, dinner, are all fine ideas, but thoughts come to a screeching halt when it comes to gifting something to your leading man.
Sweetest Day first originated in Cleveland during the Great Depression. Herbert Birch Kingston, a Cleveland candy store employee felt the need to spread some love to the city's orphans, poor, neglected, and the elderly.
So, he set out to spread some joy and sweetness in their lives with a little help from candy boxes. And so began the Sweetest Day celebration on the 3rd Saturday of October.
Over time, Sweetest Day evolved into another holiday to express romantic love. The primary idea is for women to express their love for their husbands or boyfriends with gifts.
